3D Modelling, Animation and Sculpting

17-Mar Some Gunslinging Action

A bit busy for the past couple of days, so I didn’t have much time for ZBrush. Anyway, after finishing my previous model, I’ve decided to work on something in action!

The subject of the day is:

Design And Model A Character in Motion!

=============================================
STAGE ONE  |  Designing and building basic mesh
=============================================
Using the basic mesh, I made a quick sculpt of a female head.

A fast and quick work on the head

Instead of building a base mesh using a T-pose, I’ve decided to take a different approach. Using Z-Sphere, I created the base mesh of the body in the final pose instead of a default T-pose. The reason behind this approach is to get a better grip of the flow of motion as I sculpt the model, instead of transposing and re-sculpting after the model is done.

A different approach to character modelling

Dividing the body into several parts

Adding more accessories

STAGE TWO  |  Detailing
=============================================

Next I polypainted the folds of the clothings onto the model to get a better idea of the flow of the sculpt.

Polypainting fold lines, seams etc onto the model

The results

Adding 2 more layers of clothing
